Practicing Buddhism as People of African Descent

Sep 05, 2014 - Sep 08, 2014

Sep 05 - Sep 08

What is the focus of this conference?

AMERICA WILL BE!

OPENING A NEW ERA OF WORLDWIDE KOSENRUFU

“Oh, yes, I say it plain,
America never was America to me,
And yet, I swear this oath-
America will be!

Langston Hughes, 1938

America will Be!” is also the title of a book by Dr. Vincent Harding and SGI President Daisaku Ikeda. President Ikeda says, “we [of the 21st century] have a mission to study spiritual struggles of our predecessors and open a new path forward.”

This Conference builds upon the African American experience as it relates to our “Great Vow for Kosen Rufu” as Soka Gakkai Nichiren Buddhist to carry out our human revolution and help America live up to her ideals.
