2016 CULTURE DEPARTMENT CONFERENCE will focus on encouraging Culture Department members to advance joyfully in fulfilling their missions in society, and deepen their relationship with Sensei. In attendance we will have our SGI-USA Executive Advisor, Danny Nagashima, and Drs Hickman and Garrison, co-authors with Daisaku Ikeda, Learning and Living.

What is the focus of this conference?

The theme of our conference is the motto President Ikeda gave to the SGI-USA Culture Department: “Be Humanistic Leaders: Overflowing with Faith and Intellect”.

In a message to us, President Ikeda stated, "I founded the SGI-USA Culture Department because I firmly believed that producing promising, capable people equipped with faith and intellect would be vital for the development of America". Culture Department attendees can look forward to expanding, deepening, and learning how to better apply Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism and President Ikeda's guidance into their daily lives professionally, personally and organizationally. And revitalize each person to fulfill their unique and individual mission.

Who should apply to this conference?

Open to all SGI-USA members working in the fields of Academia (College and University), Education (K-12), Healing Arts, Law and Medicine, and any youth division members studying or training in those fields.
