What is the focus of this conference?
The theme of our conference is: "Advancing Dynamically with Faith and Intellect: Making Nichiren Buddhism the New Common Sense of America”. In 1999, President Ikeda stated, "I founded the SGI-USA Culture Department because I firmly believed that producing promising, capable people equipped with faith and intellect would be vital for the development of America". Culture Department attendees can look forward to expanding, deepening, and learning how to better apply Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism and President Ikeda's guidance into their daily lives professionally, personally and organizationally. We will become more familiar with the mission and guiding principles of the Culture Department, and refreshing and revitalizing our practice to better fulfill each individual's unique mission.
Who should apply to this conference?
SGI-USA members working in the fields of Academia (College and University), Education (preK-12), Healing Arts, Law and Medicine, and any youth division members studying or training in those fields.
